Rashid Ishaq founded Select Computing, Inc. in March 1996. Under Rashid’s leadership SCi tripled in size and revenue its first year. In the early years Select Computing supported several large Minneapolis-area corporations, like Fingerhut, Dayton Hudson, Blue Cross Blue Shield, US Bancorp, Piper Jaffray, Carlson Cos. and Allianz Life. SCI was able to set itself apart from the competition by offering reliable, high-quality professionals with specialized expertise. Select Computing also had quick response time and was able to fulfill customer’s needs quickly.
In 2002 Select Computing, Inc. became an 8(a) certified small business and began searching out opportunities set aside for small businesses. Mr. Ishaq had the fortitude to realize that the best way to grab a piece of the federal pie was to team up with a large company that was experienced in government consulting.
