From Humble Beginnings to Grand Successes
Select Computing was founded in March of 1996 by Rashid Ishaq. After spending two years working for a local Minneapolis IT consulting firm, Mr. Ishaq, at the age of 25, decided it was time to make the move into the entrepreneur’s realm. Securing a few contracts for quality assurance work and software applications, he began working out of his home and even sold his car to make his first payroll.
In its first year SCI tripled in size and revenue as it continued to grab a piece of the IT pie. Select Computing added more consultants in numerous IT solution fields to handle a wide variety of clients, from small business entrepreneurs, to Fortune 1000 companies. Under Mr. Ishaq’s leadership, the company has become a successful and fast-growing information technology solution provider. SCI now has offices in Minneapolis, MN and Columbia, MD.
